WEDDING STATIONERY TIMELINE

SAVE THE DATES

Send your save the dates anywhere from 6-12 months before your wedding to give guests advance notice of your wedding date and to help set the tone for your celebration.

Order 2 months before you want to mail them.

REPLY CARDS

Send your reply cards with your invitations to find out who's coming. Besides a head count, you may need to gather entrée selections, hotel information, whether or not they'll need shuttle service or their favorite song to dance to.

Reply by dates should be within 2-4 weeks of the wedding date.

DAY OF PIECES

Order your programs, menus, place cards, and any other pieces as soon as you have your information finalized. If you plan to have any of your day of pieces (like place cards) calligraphed, make sure to plan accordingly so that you (and you calligrapher) have enough time to prepare them.

If these pieces are digitally printed, the printing time is shorter. Wedding programs take two weeks in general to finalize before printing.

INVITATIONS

Mail 6-8 weeks before your wedding to invite friends and family to your wedding ceremony and reception.

Set appointment with us early to start this process. It can take more than one appointment and multiple proofs before we finalize your order. We want plenty of time to get them just right!

CALLIGRAPHY & ADDRESSiNG

If you're planning to have your envelopes hand addressed, plan on booking your calligrapher of choice as early as possible in order to reserve a space! Your calligrapher will tell you how long they need to address your envelopes in order to meet your timeline. Ask what percentage of extra envelopes they need you to order to allow for errors (15-20% is standard.) You can also have your envelopes digitally printed in fonts and colors to match your invitation suite. (This is much faster and often less expensive.)

THANK YOU NOTES

Send your thank you notes out as soon as possible after the wedding. Some notes will be mailed before the wedding (showers, early gifts, etc.) We can help you ensure you have the right amount of notes, correctly personalized, to express your appreciation.
